Content License
Effective date: 2026-04-30 Last updated: 2026-04-30
This Content License explains who owns what when you upload material to the Wardly home-security planning service at wdfsolutioons.com (the "Service"), what licence you grant us so we can deliver the Service back to you, and how takedown and deletion work. It is part of our Terms of Service. Wardly is operated by WDF SOLUTIONS LTD (Companies House SC437083).
1. You keep ownership of your content
Everything you upload to the Service — room photos, project notes, comments, files, and any other material ("User Content") — stays yours. Wardly does not claim ownership of your User Content.
The visualizations, blind-spot maps, simulation videos, and other AI outputs that the Service generates from your User Content ("AI Outputs") are licensed back to you under the Terms of Service for personal and lawful commercial use — for example, to share with a family member, contractor, or licensed security professional helping you plan.
2. The licence you grant to Wardly
So that we can run the Service for you, you grant Wardly a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable (only to subprocessors that operate the Service), and limited licence to:
- Host and store your User Content in our cloud infrastructure.
- Process your User Content with our AI models and supporting systems.
- Display your User Content and the AI Outputs back to you and to anyone you explicitly choose to share with through the Service.
- Generate derivative AI Outputs (annotated maps, comparisons, simulation videos) from your User Content for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
- Cache and back up your User Content for technical reliability.
This licence exists only for the purpose of providing the Service to you, and it ends when your User Content is deleted under our retention policy.
2.1 The 30-day cache window
Room photos and the AI Outputs derived from them are kept in active storage and short-term backups for up to 30 days, then deleted by default. You can also delete any photo or project earlier from your account settings (open the project, choose Delete project or Delete photo). After deletion, files are removed from active storage immediately and from short-term backups within the same 30-day window.
2.2 Sublicensing only to subprocessors
We sublicense the rights above only to the subprocessors that help us deliver the Service — cloud hosting, AI inference, payments, transactional email, analytics, support tooling, and error monitoring. Each subprocessor is bound by a written data-processing agreement and may use your content only to provide the relevant service to us. The categories of subprocessors are listed in our Privacy Policy.
2.3 What we do NOT do with your content
- We do not sell your User Content.
- We do not use your User Content to train general-purpose AI models for ourselves or for third parties.
- We do not publish or display your User Content to other Wardly users.
- We do not use your User Content for advertising.
We may use anonymised, non-personal aggregated signals (for example, average processing time per region, distribution of file sizes) to monitor and improve the Service. These signals do not identify you, your home, or any individual.
3. Your warranties about the content you upload
By uploading content to the Service you confirm and warrant that:
- You own or otherwise have the right to upload the content and to grant the licence in Section 2. This includes any photo, image, document, design element, or text.
- You have the privacy and likeness rights for everyone depicted. If your room photos include other people — housemates, family members, children, guests, contractors — you have their consent to upload images that show them, in line with applicable law.
- You have explicit homeowner consent for any home that is not your primary residence. If you upload photos of a property you do not live in (for example, a relative's home you are helping with, or a rental property you own), you have the explicit, informed consent of the homeowner (or, where the homeowner is not the resident, the lawful resident) to upload those photos and to generate visualizations from them. You must be able to evidence that consent if asked.
- The content does not breach the law or our Acceptable Use Policy.
- The content does not contain malware or other harmful code.
If any of these warranties is incorrect, you may be liable to us and to third parties — see the indemnification section in the Terms of Service.
4. AI Outputs
4.1 Your licence to AI Outputs
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the AI Disclaimer, you receive a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use the AI Outputs derived from your User Content for personal and lawful commercial purposes.
4.2 Restrictions
You must not:
- Present an AI Output as a certified security audit, insurance report, court evidence, or police-grade documentation.
- Use AI Outputs to plan unauthorised entry, theft, or any other unlawful act.
- Use AI Outputs to defame, deceive, harass, or surveil another person.
- Strip, hide, or misrepresent any provenance information attached to an AI Output.
These restrictions reflect the Acceptable Use Policy and the AI Disclaimer.
5. Takedown and removal procedure
If you believe content on the Service infringes your intellectual-property rights, breaches your privacy, or breaches your right of publicity (including likeness or non-consensual imagery of you or someone you represent), you can ask us to take it down.
5.1 Where to send a notice
Send a takedown notice to support@wdfsolutioons.com with the subject line "Takedown notice".
5.2 What to include in the notice (DMCA-style fields)
To help us act quickly, please include:
- Your full name and contact details (email address, postal address, and a phone number where reasonable).
- A description of the right you believe has been infringed (for example, the copyrighted work, the trademark, the personal-image right, or the privacy interest).
- Identification of the material on the Service that you say infringes that right, with enough detail for us to find it (for example, project ID, URL, or attached screenshots).
- A statement made in good faith that the use of the material is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury (or its equivalent under your local law), that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the right-holder.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
5.3 What happens next
We acknowledge takedown notices within 2 business days, review them within 7 business days, and act in good faith. Where action is justified we may remove the content, restrict the account that uploaded it, or take other proportionate steps. Where action is not justified, we will explain why.
If your User Content is removed in error, you may send us a counter-notice with the same level of detail. We will assess it and, where appropriate, restore the content.
We will not act on takedown notices that are abusive, vague, or sent in bad faith, and we may share details of bad-faith notices with the affected user.
6. You can delete content at any time
You can delete any photo, project, or AI Output at any time from your account:
- Open the project, choose Delete project or Delete photo.
- The file and its derivatives are removed from active storage immediately.
- Backups are purged within 30 days.
You can also delete your entire account from the Billing or Settings page or by emailing support@wdfsolutioons.com.
7. Account closure
When your account is closed — by you or by us — your User Content and the AI Outputs derived from it are purged within 30 days of closure. Some metadata (for example, billing records) is retained for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy where required by law.
8. Survival
Sections of this Content License that protect rights granted before deletion or closure (for example, the licences we have already used to deliver outputs back to you) survive deletion to the extent necessary to give effect to the deliveries already made.
9. Changes to this licence
We may update this Content License from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice in-product or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
